7,8 and 9 Curriculum

 

Year 7​

Students will study:

  • 3 x70 mins of English, Mathematics, Science and Social Science
  • 1x70 mins of Japanese or German
  • 1x70 mins Arts (music, drama, dance, visual art)x70 mins Arts (music, drama, dance, visual art)
  • 2x70 mins Technology (ICT, Manual Arts, Home Economics, Business)
  • 2x70 mins (HPE)
  • 1x70 mins Pastoral Care

 

Students who need to catch up on their literacy will do one extra literacy lesson instead of Japanese or German.

The curriculum will be differentiated into classes:

  • Academic Achievers (ICT 1-1 device)
  • Immerse IT (ICT 1-1 device)
  • Compass Program – Extension, core, support (literacy/numeracy) 
    (ICT - computer rooms, library or laptop racks)

 

Students will have the same teacher for two of the core subject where possible.  These teachers will have primary school training where possible.

Students will participate in a Year 7 camp in Week 5, Term 1.

 

Yea​r 8

Students will study:

  • 1x70 mins of Japanese or German
  • 1x70 mins Arts (music, drama, dance, visual art)
  • 2x70 mins Technology (ICT, Manual Arts, Home Economics, Business)
  • 2x70 mins (HPE)
  • 1x70 mins Pastoral Care

  • 2x70 mins (HPE)
  • 1x70 mins Pastoral Care

  • Academic Achievers (ICT 1-1 device)
